Everybody still refers to Juniper Foliage as needles, must be a conifer thing.
Junipers get their strength from their foliage, therefore don’t do a major style and remove 70% of the needles at the exact same time as a repot. Here in Sydney we have the luxury of repotting Junipers in Autumn, which is right about now, if styling was done early Spring there is a window of opportunity to repot before temperatures drop significantly. Be mindful on how much you take off the root ball as I’ve realised, too much too soon and tree will be a goner. Try not to touch the foliage this time round and just let the tree recover, this will allow you to do further styling and wiring come Spring.
